A pupil of Jean-Pierre Alaux, he participated in various salons, including the Salon des artistes français in 1857, where he exhibited Sainte Geneviève guérissant un jeune aveugle à Nanterre (Saint Geneviève Healing a Young Blind Man in Nanterre), a painting that was donated by Napoléon III to the parish church of Saint-Sauveur in Bellême.
