It is an ode to the city of Paris, its history, its architecture, and its relationship with the Seine, often described as its "living artery." The Seine is in the foreground, with several barges navigating its waters, emphasizing the river's lively character. On the Left Bank, the Conciergerie is clearly visible, recognizable by its medieval towers and its location on the Île de la Cité. To the right, we see the Pont Saint-Louis, which connects the Île Saint-Louis to Notre Dame. The arches and lampposts recall the elegance of classical Parisian architecture. Here, Yvonne Canu employs her pointillist technique, made up of small, juxtaposed touches of pure color, creating a luminous vibration that breathes life into the sky, the water, and the stone. The sky is rendered in soft shades of blue, yellow, pink, and purple. The water shimmers with blue, yellow, and white reflections, conveying fluid movement.
